1Samuel 7:3. Then Samuel spoke to all the house of Israel, saying, "If you return to the Lord with all your hearts, then put away the foreign gods and the Ashtoreths from among you, and prepare your hearts for the Lord, and serve Him only; and He will deliver you from the hand of the Philistines.''
4. So the children of Israel put away the Baals and the Ashtoreths, and served the Lord only.
5. And Samuel said, "Gather all Israel to Mizpah, and I will pray to the Lord for you.''
6. So they gathered together at Mizpah, drew water, and poured it out before the Lord.
And they fasted that day, and said there, "We have sinned against the Lord.'' And Samuel judged the children of Israel at Mizpah.

Yesterday we looked at fasting in connection with  seeking direction and help, and we concluded that fasting is a weapon or way that we can fight the forces of this world, fasting is a way we can actively fight in the spiritual realm. The children of Israel had a way of turning from God, and worship idols or other gods, and of course they pretty soon see the consequences and turn back to the Lord. In this instance in the Bible, we see fasting used as an act of repentance, and going back to God.

Saints, we also can learn and use fasting as a way of getting back to God, and where He wants us to be or be doing. Today we have modern "baals", and they are not as blatant in rejection of God, but just as manipulative and deceitful as those. Through fasting we can repent and go back to the Father.

Denying yourself, has a way of calming you down, it has a way of making your spirit still, and thus  the Lord can gently remind you, correct, and guide you again. Also fasting i am convinced is one of the best tools to fight satanic attacks and tests in our lives. For, fasting actively overcomes his trump card, what he is counting on to trap or lure us, sinful nature, fasting brings it down to its knees and the more we fast the better we become in overcoming, and truly become conquerors in Christ. For in its essence fasting acknowledges God's supremacy and Lordship.

God bless you, i will see you tomorrow.
